1 Peter 2:11-12
11: Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 12: Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation. (ESV) As members of God’s Kingdom, this isn't our home. Our home is in Heaven. This place is only where our mission is to be served. On earth, we are: -sojourners (passing through) -exiles (people who are banned) Peter uses those words to describe our relationship to the world. He says: “This really isn't our place.” We're members of an eternal Kingdom. Does this seem odd to you? If so, why?
